Evaluation of Balneotherapy Effectiveness for Anxiety Reduction in Nursing Students
<h2>Abstract</h2> Mental health problems are increasing among university students. In Spain, 49.5% of students in health science report moderate or severe anxiety. This study measured anxiety levels of nursing students before and after a balneotherapy intervention. There was no control group. A total of 125 second-year nursing students underwent a 20-minute balneotherapy session (use of water with mineral-medicinal properties). The average anxiety score decreased by 9.05 points (<i>P</i> < .01), demonstrating that balneotherapy significantly reduces anxiety. Further studies with a larger sample size and control group are needed to increase generalizability of results.
