Psychometric evaluation of the Adherence to Refills and Medications Scale (ARMS) in Peruvian hypertensive patients

The study aimed to determine the psychometric properties of the ARMS in patients with arterial hypertension from health centers in East Lima. This instrumental research included 367 participants (48.77% men and 51.23% women) aged 35-80 years (<i>M</i> = 64.11; SD = 9.49). This study evaluated content validity, internal structure validity using confirmatory factor analysis, measurement invariance by sex, and reliability. The results demonstrated adequate content validity and a unidimensional structure with good model fit (CFI = 0.979; TLI = 0.973; SRMR = 0.064; RMSEA = 0.105). Additionally, measurement invariance by sex and age was established, and the instrument demonstrated satisfactory reliability (ω = 0.92). In conclusion, the ARMS showed robust psychometric properties in patients with arterial hypertension from health centers in East Lima.
