Facet‐Guided in‐Plane Metal Plating via Accelerated Surface Diffusion in Mg Metal Batteries (Adv. Energy Mater. 43/2025)
Metal Batteries Polished Zn(002) substrates guide in-plane Mg plating by combining crystallographic matching with Zn, ultralow migration barriers, and energetically favourable adatom binding. This approach directs uniform lateral growth, effectively eliminating dendrite formation and ensuring stable cycling performance in anode-free metal batteries.
