(S18) sexual health status among Tunisian intensive care healthcare night-shift workers

Abstract Background Sexual health is a critical yet under-researched aspect of care for intensive care unit (ICU) patients, who often experience physiological and psychological challenges that may impact sexual function. In Tunisia, ICU patients face unique risks related to prolonged immobilization, medication effects, and the psychological toll of critical illness. This study aims to explore these impacts, providing insight into sexual health challenges and recovery outcomes for ICU patients in Tunisia. Methods This was a cross-sectional study undertaken between July 2022 to July 2023 based on a self-administrated questionnaire on intensive care unit workers. We Used IIEF 15 and FSFI for assessing sexual status. Results A total of 20 intensive care workers (13 physicians and 7 nurses) fully completed the surveys. All participants were involved in over shift workload. The mean age was 28,2 years and a sex ratio of 1,5 Female for 1 Male. The survey respondents have a mean Rosenberg scale of 27 (10-40) witch suggest a low self-esteem. For the IIEF 15 the mean score was 17 ± 3 (moderate erectly dysfunction) with a minimum scale of 11, the most damaged dimension was the intercourse satisfaction. For the FSFI scale 23 ± 5 witch express a low sexual dysfunction. More than 90% of the participants expressed a high sexual desire but with a lack in the satisfaction dimension. Only 4 (20%) participants have consulted a sexologist. Conclusion Health care workers were in a middle of a sanitary battle dealing with more workload and death, leading them to aphysical and psychosexual collapse. Ourfindings call for urgent psychological interventions for vulnerable groups of Tunisian health care workers.
