(S16) Trimix treatment effect on erectile dysfunction patients in Saudi Arabia – preliminary results

Abstract Background Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a prevalent condition that affects many men in Saudi Arabia, and it is frequently associated with underlying health conditions including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. While first-line therapies, such as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i), are widely used, a large proportion of patients remain resistant or have unacceptable side effects and fail to achive satifated erction and regidity. This research assesses patient satisfaction and safety of use Trimix injectable treatment, which combines papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin E1 that given intracavernally to improve erectile performance. Methods A total of 1013 retrospective patients who received Trimix injections between Jan 2021 and Dec 2023 at specilised clinic in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. Patient satisfaction was assessed through the Erectile Dysfunction Inventory of Treatment Satisfaction (EDITS) index. (11 items; index score range= 0-100; higher scores indicate more treatment satisfaction. Response options for each EDITS item were grouped into “success” (the 2 most satisfied or favorable responses) and “no success” (the remaining 3 responses). The binary response (success or no success) for each item was expressed as a function of overall EDITS score in a simple logistic regression model with. This research assesses patient satisfaction and safety of use Trimix injectable treatment, which combines papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin E1 that given intracavernally to improve erectile performance. Results Preliminary findings indicate that Trimix injections significantly improve erectile function, with over 80% of patients reporting enhanced erection quality and increased sexual satisfaction. The reported side effects were generally mild, with instances of penile pripism being the most common, and serious complications wererare. Conclusion In conclusion, Trimix injection therapy is a safe and effective treatment for erectile dysfunction, offering significant improvements in patient satisfaction and minimal adverse effects. These findings support the use of Trimix as a viable option for men who do not respond to traditional oral therapies, highlighting its role in improving the quality of life for patients with ED in Saudi Arabia. Further study in multicenters is recommended to evaluate its long-term safety and efficacy comprehensively.
