(S14) the role of self-help programs in enhancing sexual dysfunction: a pathway to improvement

Abstract Background Sexual dysfunction affects a significant portion of the population, often leading to emotional distress and relationship challenges. Self-help programs have emerged as a valuable tool for individuals seeking to address and improve their sexual health and overall well-being. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of self-help programs in enhancing sexual function and addressing the psychological aspects of sexual dysfunction among individuals and couples. Methods A systematic review of existing literature and program evaluations was conducted, focusing on self-help interventions designed for sexual dysfunction, including educational resources, guided exercises, and cognitive-behavioral strategies. Data on participant outcomes, satisfaction, and improvement in sexual function were analyzed. Results Preliminary findings indicate that self-help programs significantly enhance participants’ understanding of sexual health and improve sexual function. Participants reported increased confidence, reduced anxiety, and improved communication with partners. The combination of self-guided resources and therapeutic support resulted in notable improvements in sexual satisfaction and relationshipdynamics. Conclusion Self-help programs play a crucial role in enhancing and improving sexual dysfunction by empowering individuals and couples with the knowledge and tools needed to address their concerns. Integrating these programs into traditional therapeutic approaches can lead to better outcomes and promote a holistic understanding of sexual health.
