Voxel-scale quantum state control in nanorod ensembles using reconfigurable needle beams

Abstract Selective optical addressing of individual nanostructures within dense ensembles remains a major challenge for scalable photonic and quantum-information platforms. Here, using finite-element and variational quantum Monte Carlo modeling, we show that reconfigurable three-dimensional arrays of optical needle beams enable spatially selective control of the optical response of InAs nanorods embedded in GaAs. A non-resonant structured dressing field locally renormalizes exciton and biexciton energies, enabling tunable electromagnetically induced transparency and dynamic reshaping of near-field diffraction patterns. A single control parameter—the activation fraction between illuminated and non-illuminated nanorods provides continuous tuning of the photoluminescence peak position (up to ∼50 meV). We further predict programmable Talbot self-imaging in nanorod arrays with subwavelength pitch, offering spatially resolved readout of structured-light activation. These results establish structured-light-driven nanorod ensembles as a scalable platform for reconfigurable nanoscale emitters, tunable diffractive optics, and on-chip slow-light devices.
