Clinical trial of sonodynamic therapy combined with radiotherapy for high-grade brainstem gliomas
Brainstem gliomas lack effective treatments. SDT is a new non-invasive option. Trial assesses SDT + RT + CT for high-grade brainstem gliomas. 3/11 patients had partial response. Median PFS 9.2 mos, OS 11.7 mos. 6-mo PFS 54.5%, OS 72.7%. SDT + chemo-radiotherapy is safe, feasible, with initial therapeutic promise.
