5-Aminolevulinic Acid-based Photodynamic Therapy Combined with CO2 Lattice Laser in the Treatment of Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus: A Case Report
A 56-years-old female presented with leukoplakia with severe pruritus on her vulvar for more than 10 years. Physcial examination showed atrophy of the labia minora and clitoris, and a porcelain-white selerotic atrophic plaques with a clear visible boundary of the vulva. Diagnosis: vulva lichen sclerosus. After 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy following carbon dioxide lattice laser for 3 times, the itching was completely relieved, and the area of vulvar leukoplakia was significantly reduced and the local skin elasticity was restored.
