Effect of photodynamic therapy on middle and advanced esophageal cancer patients with dysphagia and quality of life

Esophageal cancer is one of the most common gastrointestinal tumors in clinical practice. The five-year survival rate of esophageal cancer in China is still less than 30%. Moreover, due to the atypical early symptoms, more than 80% of patients were already in the middle and late stage when diagnosed, dysphagia and its resulting nutritional deficiency and cachexia were the most common clinical symptoms, and also the main factors affecting the efficacy and survival of patients. At present, studies have proved that photodynamic therapy can effectively kill tumors, but there is still no evidence of evidence-based medicine in alleviating malignant obstruction in patients with middle and advanced esophageal cancer. Therefore, we intend to conduct this study to verify the efficacy of photodynamic therapy on esophageal cancer patients with dysphagia and its impact on quality of life.
