Secukinumab Combined with Photodynamic Therapy in the Treatment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa: A Case Report
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory condition of the apocrine glands primarily affecting the axillae, perineum, and inframammary regions. It is characterized by painful, inflamed cutaneous lesions causing nodules, sinus tracts, and abscesses [1]. We present a 17-year-old male who developed painful nodules, cystic lesions with ulceration, sinus tracts, and scarring in bilateral axillae, groin, and buttocks. Treatment consisted of secukinumab combined with photodynamic therapy, supplemented with short-term oral corticosteroids and antibiotics, which resulted in a favorable outcome. No recurrence was observed during a one-year follow-up period.
