Moist Burn Ointment in Wound Care after CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment for Superficial Scars

To assess the effectiveness of moist burn ointment in wound care following CO2 fractional laser treatment for superficial scars. The study involved 60 patients (randomly divided into two groups, each with 30 participants) treated at Shanghai Tongji University Stomatology Hospital from January 2023 to August 2024. The control group received dry wound care, while the test group was treated with moist burn ointment. Wound healing time, pain levels, scar improvement, adverse reactions, and nursing satisfaction were evaluated. The test group showed significantly shorter wound healing times, lower Visual Scar Scale (VSS) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, higher scar improvement rates (96.67% vs. 80.00%), fewer adverse reactions (6.67% vs. 30.00%), and greater nursing satisfaction (93.33% vs. 73.33%) compared to the control group (P<0.05). Moist burn ointment enhances wound healing, reduces scarring, alleviates pain, and improves patient satisfaction after CO2 laser treatment, making it a promising clinical option.

Abstract

To assess the effectiveness of moist burn ointment in wound care following CO2 fractional laser treatment for superficial scars. The study involved 60 patients (randomly divided into two groups, each with 30 participants) treated at Shanghai Tongji University Stomatology Hospital from January 2023 to August 2024. The control group received dry wound care, while the test group was treated with moist burn ointment. Wound healing time, pain levels, scar improvement, adverse reactions, and nursing satisfaction were evaluated. The test group showed significantly shorter wound healing times, lower Visual Scar Scale (VSS) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, higher scar improvement rates (96.67% vs. 80.00%), fewer adverse reactions (6.67% vs. 30.00%), and greater nursing satisfaction (93.33% vs. 73.33%) compared to the control group (P<0.05). Moist burn ointment enhances wound healing, reduces scarring, alleviates pain, and improves patient satisfaction after CO2 laser treatment, making it a promising clinical option.
