Analysis of Parameters Impacting Measurement Uncertainties and Implementation of the Calibration Protocol for Permittivity Extraction Using a GSG Probe
This paper presents a non-destructive method for characterizing dielectric materials using a Ground Signal Ground (GSG) probe for measurements over a broad frequency range [3 GHz-20 GHz]. The procedure requires only two measurements: the first one in contact with the sample to be characterized (probe 'down') and the other one is made with the probe raised (probe 'up'). The paper analyzes the impact of calibration materials on measurements and introduces a specific calibration protocol to reduce these effects and ensure more accurate characterization results.
