Digital Pathways to Women s Financial Empowerment: Reducing Gender Inequality through Inclusive Fintech Solutions

Despite global progress in financial inclusion, women in developing nations continue to encounter systemic barriers that limit their integration into formal financial systems. Factors such as inadequate financial literacy, absence of collateral, restricted mobility, and socio-cultural constraints contribute to persistent financial exclusion. The growth of digital financial services (DFS)—including mobile money, online banking, and fintech platforms—offers an unprecedented opportunity to bridge these gaps by making financial tools more affordable, accessible, and user-friendly. This research examines how digital financial inclusion (DFI) influences women’s economic empowerment through income generation, entrepreneurship, and household decision-making. It also investigates the continuing challenges, such as the digital gender divide, limited digital literacy, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Based on the findings, the study proposes actionable strategies and policy measures to strengthen women’s participation in digital finance and promote gender-equitable growth.
