A hybrid genetic algorithm for green vehicle routing problem
Recent research has increasingly integrated environmental considerations into fields such as logistics, intelligent transportation systems, and optimization problems, particularly the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). This study explores the enhancement of genetic algorithms (GAs) by proposing a hybrid approach that embeds heuristic strategies into key components of the GA framework. Specifically, the proposed hybrid genetic algorithm incorporates problem-specific heuristics into the initialization of the population, the evaluation function, and the local search mechanism. The goal is to improve the efficiency and solution quality of traditional genetic algorithms when applied to environmentally aware VRP scenarios.
