Development and Realization of an AESA Receiver for the PAMIR-Ka Radar Demonstrator
This paper presents a frontend upgrade of the PAMIR-Ka radar system to a broadband Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) with 8 GHz simultaneous bandwidth in Ka-band. The overall concept of the new system is detailed, along with the development and integration of the modular active receiver frontend. Additionally, the assembly procedures and function verification process are discussed. Finally, the steering capability of the fully populated receiver array is validated using a planar near-field scanner within an anechoic chamber.
