The Effect of Self-Leadership on Career Consciousness and Employment Stress among Cyber University Taekwondo Major Students
This study examined the effects of self-leadership on career consciousness and employment stress among cyber university Taekwondo major students, and verified the mediating effect of career consciousness. A survey was conducted with 248 Taekwondo major students from cyber universities in South Korea. Data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrapping mediation analysis using PROCESS macro Model 4. Self-leadership had significant positive effects on career consciousness (β = .621, p<.001, R² = .421) and significant negative effects on employment stress (β = -.485, p<.001, R²=.264). Career consciousness showed a partial mediating effect in the relationship between self-leadership and employment stress (indirect effect = -.249, 95% CI: -.361 ~ -.140). Self-leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing career consciousness and reducing employment stress among cyber university students. The mediating role of career consciousness suggests important implications for developing self-leadership education programs and career guidance services in cyber universities, highlighting the synergistic effects of martial arts training and remote education.
