Methodological Quality Assessment of Meta-Analysis Studies on Dance in the Elderly: AMSTAR 2
This study analyzed the key characteristics of domestic and international meta-analyses of dance for older adults and assessed their methodological quality using the AMSTAR 2 assessment tool. The following conclusions were drawn: First, examining the key characteristics of domestic and international meta-analyses of dance for older adults, domestic studies primarily focused on psychological and psychiatric aspects, such as mental health, cognitive function, depression, and physical fitness, and most were funded by research grants. However, the number of studies was relatively small and the number of researchers was limited. In contrast, international studies covered a variety of health topics, including physical function, falls, and anxiety, and were characterized by a large number of researchers and multidisciplinary collaboration. Second, regarding methodological quality, all four domestic studies were found to have flaws in critical items, resulting in one low rating and three critically low ratings. Of the six international studies, two were classified as critically low, one as low, and three were classified as high, with no flaws in critical items. This suggests that international studies adhere more closely to international standard procedures than domestic studies.
