Effect of 12 weeks Aerobic Exercise Program on Homocysteine, % Body fat and Insulin resistance in obese women
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12-week of aerobic training on homocysteine, insulin resistance and % body fat in obese middle-age women. Subjects with over 30% body fat were classified into two groups ; exercise (n=14) and control group (n=14). Blood sample were drawn before and after 12 weeks exercise, and % body fat, homocystein, glucose, insulin and %body fat were measured. Research findings showed a significant decrease in homocysteine, insulin resistance and % body fat in exercised group. These findings reveal the 12weeks cause reduction of homocysteine, insulin resistance, and % body fat in sedentary middle-aged women and can be recommended for prevention of cardiovascular disease.
