Assessment of enhanced angular deviation in fused deposition modelling with ABS material

Computer-aided design of rapid prototyping models for the creation of intricate engineering models is basically an additive layer manufacturing method that adds layers of materials to construct objects. Rapid prototyping has become one of the most increasing key technologies in the present age. Additive manufacturing processes such as fused deposition modelling (FDM) have made important contributions to many industries for achieving close dimensional tolerances. As a result, FDM makes it possible to produce higher-quality products from recycled thermoplastic polymers. Analysis of the influence of the input experimental parameters like printing speed, fill density, layer height, extruder temperature, and bed temperature on response parameters like angular deviation on acrylonitrile butadiene styrene polymer has been made during the recent study. The experiments are conducted by the use of the response surface methodology with the help of central composite design technique. The analysis of variance is done to identify the most important features of the process variables. The optimal parameters for angular deviation of 15° and 90° are print speed 53.44 mm/s, extruder temperature 233.02°C, bed temperature 111.86°C, fill density 17.42%, and layer height 0.11 mm.
