Did court dismiss coach's FLSA claim?
A volunteer baseball coach at Northwestern University was limited to 30 hours per week until the head coach steadily expanded his hours. Within a few months, his workload increased to up to 100 hours per week. The volunteer coach also took on new responsibilities when key members of the staff left. Despite this expanded role, he wasn’t formally compensated beyond two $5,000 payments, which he alleged were attempts to avoid paying a full‐time salary and evade NCAA rules.
