An attempt to unravel the differentiable relationship between the activity and reactivity of selected cationic and anionic dye molecules towards their catalytic degradation: An experimental and theoretical study

The so called clean Industrial transformation focuses decarbonization in many parts of the world as the EU. Wind and solar power plant projects, "green buildings" or large scale lignocellulose production in fields and forest plantations do involve fundamental changes in spaces, like rural landscapes and urban environments. To understand how individuals and communities perceive and respond to these changes, it is crucial to accompany such efforts with research on the first personnal perspective(s) on transformed landscapes. Space based experiences as phenomenon are not measurable, but comprehensible based on methods. In this article, we argue the term of atmospheres (taken from phenomenology) as essential. Atmospheres refer to the feelings and emotions associated with spatial environments. Studying how people perceive atmospheres is challenging, however, it has been considered like "nailing a pudding to the wall". In a nutshell, we therefore introduce a methodological "toolbox" that can be used to sense atmosphere narrations in the context of transformation research, including methods such as field walks, photo-voice, drawing, and embodiment, each of which we critically discuss with the help of real-world examples. These methods can be used to obtain valuable insights into the lived experiences of people in (transformed) spatial environments. Thus, "atmosphere sensing methods" are also discussed as complementary to the established practice of collaborative local sustainability projects that respect people's place attachment.
