A Dimension-Level Constellation Disassembly And Transmission Method Based On High-Dimensional Constellation Selective Mapping
This paper proposes a dimension-level constellation decomposition transmission scheme based on the selective mapping of high-dimensional constellations. By employing entropy-limited tuning functions and constellation point extraction techniques, constellation shaping is achieved through the selection and extraction of constellation points from high-dimensional constellations. The high-dimensional constellation is then decomposed dimensionally and transmitted through the channel. Experimental validation is conducted over a 2 km seven-core fiber in an intensity modulation/direct detection (IM/DD) system. Compared with the traditional 3D-4-symbol constellation, the dimension-decomposed 3D-4-symbol constellation achieves a 0.5 dB improvement in receiver sensitivity. Similarly, the dimension-decomposed 3D-8-symbol constellation shows a 0.4 dB gain in receiver sensitivity compared to the traditional 3D-8-symbol constellation.
