Colorectal clear cell carcinoma: a literature review
This review article gathered the literature mainly focused on colon clear cell carcinoma. The most common site of tumor was left side colon with symptoms of abdominal pain and gastrointestinal bleeding. Surgery was the preferred intervention. Pathological investigation included cytokeratin 20, cytokeratin 7, alpha-fetoprotein, carcinoembryonic antigen, caudal-type homeobox 2, and staining. However, due to rarity of colic clear cell carcinoma and small sample size, the etiology of colon clear cell carcinoma is unknown and no pathognomonic diagnostic criteria is introduced. Further clinical studies are required to shed light on this scarce type of colon cancer.
