This article included a detailed literature review regarding Ayurvedic education and flipped classroom methodologies within the medical and health sciences for its effectiveness A systematic review of studies focused on flipped learning in medical curricula, with specific attention to the benefits and drawbacks related to Ayurveda. The flipped classroom model with active learning promotes high student engagement, understanding, and retention of the complex Dosha theory and Panchakarma. It also promotes practical experience and collaborative problem-solving, enhancing clinical application. Implementation is only effective if technological resources are available, the curriculum is adjusted, and the faculty is adequately trained. The flipped classroom model improves Ayurvedic education by merging theory with practical application. This approach would also enhance student engagement and clinical competencies. However, challenges remain in terms of infrastructure and faculty preparedness.

Abstract

Modern education creates a lot of challenges for traditional Ayurveda, where teaching theoretical knowledge and practical skills becomes a problem. Traditional teaching methods lead to be machines of passive learning, which is the major hindrance to implementing the principles of Ayurveda. The flipped classroom method is considered a solution in which the teaching method focuses on student-centered and active learning. This study is aimed at finding the feasibility and advantages of this teaching approach, especially regarding the engagement of students in clinical practice and their retention of knowledge.
