Triclinic polymorph of 1-hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic acid

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C7H12O3, an α-hy-droxy-carb-oxy-lic acid, contains two complete mol-ecules. In the extended structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into sheets lying perpendicular to the crystallographic <i>b</i> axis.

Abstract

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C7H12O3, an α-hy-droxy-carb-oxy-lic acid, contains two complete mol-ecules. In the extended structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into sheets lying perpendicular to the crystallographic <i>b</i> axis.
