Hamiltonian Structure and Mass Spectrum in Models with Third Derivative Extension of the Chern–Simons Topological Invariant

In D = 3, we analyze the Hamiltonian structure of models involving the third-derivative-order extension of the abelian Chern–Simons topological invariant. The first model is obtained by adding a third-derivative-order extension of the abelian Chern–Simons topological invariant to the topological mass term. The second model is constructed by supplementing the first model with the Proca mass term. We also investigate the excitations and mass spectra.

Abstract

In D = 3, we analyze the Hamiltonian structure of models involving the third-derivative-order extension of the abelian Chern–Simons topological invariant. The first model is obtained by adding a third-derivative-order extension of the abelian Chern–Simons topological invariant to the topological mass term. The second model is constructed by supplementing the first model with the Proca mass term. We also investigate the excitations and mass spectra.
