Emergency Surgical Management of Uncontrollable Life-Threatening Hemorrhage from a Central Mandibular Hemangioma in an 8-Year-Old and Literature Review
Central hemangioma of the mandible represents an exceptionally rare benign vascular tumor. Uncontrolled bleeding from the spontaneous rupture of a mandibular hemangioma is exceedingly rare. We report an emergency surgical intervention for acute uncontrolled bleeding secondary to spontaneous rupture of a left mandibular intraosseous hemangioma in a 8-year-old female without preoperative preparation. Postoperative evaluation at 1 year revealed excellent radiographic bone healing, with full patient functionality and high family satisfaction regarding aesthetic outcomes.
