Impact of Hydroxyurea on Liver, Kidney, and Hematological Parameters in Sickle Cell Anemia Patients Above 15 Years Old in Sana’a City
Hydroxyurea was well tolerated and showed no evidence of inducing major hematological, hepatic, or renal toxicity. Slight effects on renal function, including lower creatinine levels, were observed and may reflect underlying disease physiology rather than drug-related changes. However, as this was a cross-sectional study, causal relationships could not be established, and longitudinal studies are recommended to assess long-term hepatic and renal outcomes.
