Peripheral endothelialization progression on fluoropolymer-coated left atrial appendage closure devices: Does device position influence healing?
The extent of endothelialization of left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices is a key determinant of thrombotic risk, particularly device-related thrombus (DRT) formation. Although animal models suggest that fluoropolymer (FP)-coated devices accelerate endothelial coverage and reduce thrombogenicity, clinical evidence remains limited. In particular, human data directly characterizing the extent, timing, and pattern of coverage are sparse, leaving the clinical relevance of FP-related acceleration unresolved.
