Enlightenment from design and management of NSF international science and engineering office to NSFC projects of international cooperation and exchanges
The U. S. National Science Foundation (NSF) established the Office of International Science and Engineering (OISE) in response to the need for international science and research collaboration. OISE is dedicated to promoting collaboration of scientists and researchers between U. S. and other countries, expanding international collaborative research networks, facilitating interdisciplinary and cross-cultural scientific exchanges, promoting used-inspired research, and fostering a diverse and internationally component workforce for U. S. By analyzing the content, objectives, and funding modes of OISE's current programs, the article summarizes the main advantages of OISE. OISE has established international cooperation networks in the context of globalization, actively responded to the challenges and adjusted the strategy, supported used-inspired scientific research, and cultivated high-quality talents for U. S., etc., which provides a certain reference for NSFC's funding for international cooperation.
