Current Status, hotspot analysis, and prospects of digital industry research

The objective of this study is to analyze research areas, development trends, and future trends in the digital industry over the last decade. Employing bibliometric analysis methods and utilizing the CiteSpace software, a knowledge mapping analysis is conducted on digital industry-related literature sourced from China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI) data (578 articles) and the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection (12,574 articles) spanning from 2014 to 2024. The number of Chinese and English articles in the digital industry has shown a rapid upward trend. However, a core author group has not yet emerged. China contributes the most publications, primarily from universities. The research hotspots have gradually shifted from macro-level discussions to practical applications across various fields. Chinese literature tends to focus on the economic impacts of the digital industry, while English literature remains biased towards digital technologies and methodological research. Finally, the paper offers insights into the possibilities for academic exchanges and cooperation between countries/institutions, as well as the advancement of digital industry standards and safety systems.
