Post Ugi/Ag(I)‐Catalyzed Domino Cyclization Reaction by Neighboring Group Assistance: Synthesis of 2‐Imino‐2,5‐Dihydrofuran Derivatives
A novel strategy for the synthesis of 2‐imino‐2,5‐dihydrofuran derivatives by a cascade Ugi/Ag‐catalyzed domino cyclization has been described. The reaction involving salicylic acids, amines, enynals, and isocyanides initially produces the Ugi intermediate. Subsequently, in the presence of K 2 CO 3 and AgNO 3 , a tandem domino cyclization and ring‐opening reaction occurs. This process, facilitated by the neighboring group (Ar–OH), results in the formation of 2‐imino‐2,5‐dihydrofurans with a high overall yield.
