Product Quality, Service Delivery and Sustainable Strategies of Bakeries

This descriptive-correlational study examined product quality, service delivery, and sustainability strategies of bakeries in the 1st District of Capiz, Philippines, for the year 2023. Data were gathered from 300 customers across 15 DTI-accredited bakeries in six municipalities using purposive sampling. A validated, pilot-tested survey instrument assessed demographic and buying characteristics alongside assessments of product quality, service delivery, and sustainability. Statistical analyses, including Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H, and Spearman’s rho, were conducted using SPSS at a 0.05 significance level. Results showed that most customers were middle-aged female government employees with lower-middle income who purchased weekly. Product quality and service delivery received consistently high ratings, while sustainability practices were strongly supported. Product quality ratings remained stable across all groups, whereas service delivery and sustainability varied by occupation and buying frequency. Strong correlations among the three variables indicated that improvements in one area aligned with higher evaluations in the others. Recommendations include enhancing product variety, improving staff professionalism, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. The study highlights the importance of integrated strategies to elevate bakery performance and customer satisfaction.
