Recruiting Challenges and Strategies in Helmand Province, Afghanistan

Recruitment in humanitarian Organizations in Helmand province Afghanistan is a real challenge. Organizations face tough barriers like paying salaries that just aren't competitive, handling with difficult working conditions, and offering limited chances for people to promote their careers. On top of that they need very specific skills, especially in medicine, that are hard to find. A recent study looked into these issues, gathering data from 51 people across various UN, NGO, and INGO groups. The research showed that one of the biggest hurdles is the social and gender barriers that prevent communities from fully supporting vulnerable women. To fix these problems, the study suggests a two-part solution. 1- Organizations need to make their hiring process more transparent, sincere, and flexible. 2- They have to work directly with local communities and authorities to finish the social and cultural problems that stand in their way.
