Strategic Budget Planning and Its Influence on Resource Management and Financial Success in Educational Institutions

This study determined the influence of strategic budget planning on resource management and financial success in private secondary schools in Iloilo City for the school year 2025–2026. A total of 135 academic and administrative personnel from eight institutions participated, all of whom were directly involved in budgeting and financial operations. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling to ensure relevant experience. Several schools declined participation due to confidentiality concerns, limited staff, and restrictive institutional policies. A descriptive-correlational design was employed, using a validated questionnaire reviewed by experts in finance, statistics, and language. Data were analyzed using SPSS, applying descriptive and inferential statistics, including Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H, and Spearman’s rho tests. Findings revealed thatEducational Institutions’ strategic budget planning was generally “Aligned,” resource management was “Very Good,” and financial success is “High.” Older, supervisory, and long-serving staff gave significantly higher ratings, indicating that experience and leadership roles shaped more favorable assessments. Financial success varied only by tenure, with newer staff providing more optimistic assessments. The study concluded that strategic budget planning significantly influenced both resource management and financial success. It recommended involving experienced personnel in financial decisions, promoting transparency, integrating financial literacy into programs, and tailoring support systems based on demographics. Stakeholders were encouraged to foster collaboration and continuous improvement to sustain institutional growth.
