Optimizing RFID Tag Detection in Constrained Environments Using Digital Twin Methodology
In an RFID system, antenna readers can become mismatched when operating in complex environments, compromising RFID tag detection. This issue is particularly critical in industrial contexts where precision is essential. In this work, the Digital Twin methodology was employed to simulate and enhance the reading performance of an actual RFID reader placed in an enclosed metallic structure. A Digital Twin of the source antenna was created based on free-space measurements. Additionally, a Digital Twin of the metallic structure was developed to optimize both the antenna and its placement. This approach significantly improved RFID tag detection, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
