3D Orbital Angular Momentum Multiplexing Holography Based on Radially Self‐Accelerating Beams

ABSTRACT Orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing holography encodes and decodes information using the OAM of light, enabling hologram multiplexing and the selective reconstruction of individual images through specific incident beams. Current research primarily focuses on OAM multiplexing holography for 2D images or reconstructs 3D objects by converting pixels of multiple 2D images into Gaussian spots at varying longitudinal positions. However, the latter approach necessitates multiple acquisitions and significantly increases the complexity of numerical reconstruction. To address this limitation, we propose a novel 3D OAM holographic multiplexing method based on radially self‐accelerating beams. These beams exhibit continuous rotation around their central axis during propagation. By encoding the information of multiple 3D objects into a single hologram and generating a radially self‐accelerating beam for each target point under selective beam illumination, depth information can be retrieved from the rotation angle of the corresponding sub‐beams, thereby enabling the reconstruction of 3D objects. Both numerical simulations and experimental results validate the feasibility of the proposed approach and demonstrate its capability to achieve high‐quality 3D object reconstruction.
