Optimization of high-frequency loss properties in Fe-substituted Pr2(Co1−xFex)17 soft-magnetic composites

Soft-magnetic materials are critical functional components in high-frequency electronic devices and high-efficiency energy conversion systems. The development of new soft-magnetic materials has become a core scientific issue for achieving performance breakthroughs. In this study, Pr2(Co1−xFex)17 (x = 0–0.882) soft-magnetic materials were synthesized via the reduction–diffusion method, and the effects of Fe doping on the evolution of the easy magnetization direction and high-frequency loss properties of the composite were systematically investigated. As the Fe content increases, the magneto-crystalline anisotropy of Pr2(Co1−xFex)17 changes from planar anisotropy to axis, then to cone, and, eventually, to plane. Notably, the composites with conical anisotropy (x = 0.647) exhibits excellent high-frequency, low-loss performance, with a power loss of only 22.902 kW/m3 under 3 mT and 500 kHz conditions. These findings offer a new approach for the development of advanced low-loss soft-magnetic composite materials.
