Stage acoustics for musicians: Analysis of a University Auditorium
The acoustic quality of the stage is essential for an immersive and comfortable musical experience for all present. It directly impacts sound perception, communication between musicians, and audience immersion. A carefully planned and structured environment provides musicians with a sense of comfort and control, facilitating their adaptation to their performance during the presentation and enhancing their sound control throughout the show. Given the importance of stage acoustics in performance halls, this article aims to characterize the acoustic quality of the audience and stage of an auditorium at the State University of Campinas Unicamp, oriented towards musical practice and based on the mentioned acoustic parameters. Measurements followed the procedures of ABNT NBR ISO 3382 in the audience and stage areas of the auditorium through on-site surveys and field measurements. Finally, the results indicate that the low reverberation present in the auditorium may be a decisive factor in the acoustic quality of this type of environment.
