Notes on the healing couple

It is widely accepted that a primary characteristic of healthy couples is their capacity to approach their relationship, and their individual lives, in creative ways. In this article I explore the individual and interactive dynamics of a particular kind of creative couple, the “healing couple”, which exhibits a form of creativity that is based in both partners’ abilities to connect with and creatively elaborate upon their own unconscious, the other's unconscious, and the shared unconscious of the relationship itself.
