Understanding Electrochemical Influences of ZnO on Highly Conductive, Bimetallic Fe/Ni Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) in Supercapacitor

Metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived mixtures are active materials in energy storage owing to their large surface area and superior conductivity. Bimetallic MOF are makes from nickel nitrate hexahydrate, and ferrous chloride tetrahydrate through solvothermal method. Then, zinc oxide is added with the bimetallic MOF, and tested for supercapacitor electrodes. Surprisingly, small amount of ZnO to Bimetallic Fe/Ni-MOF used to increase the electrochemical performance. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) are used to investigate and assess the structural and physicochemical properties and morphological nature of the Bimetallic Fe/Ni-MOF/ZnO. By analysing, Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Galvanostatic Charge-Discharge (GCD), and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) curves, the electrochemical characteristics of Bimetallic Fe/Ni-MOF/ZnO based supercapacitor are investigated.
