A Phase II Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial to Evaluate E-Selectin Inhibition with Uproleselan to Reduce Gastrointestinal Toxicity During Autologous Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation for Multiple Myeloma
• High dose melphalan in multiple myeloma is associated with significant GI toxicity. • Effective prophylactic options are needed to reduce toxicity and improve outcomes. • Uproleselan, an E-selectin antagonist, may reduce GI toxicity from melphalan. • Further studies are needed to test this hypothesis and optimize dosing strategies.
