Wellness Coaching Fosters Quality of Life in Rehabilitation Professionals in Thailand
The contribution of low quality of life among healthcare professionals has been highlighted in the literature. Still, relatively little attention has been paid to intervention development to improve their quality of life. This paper investigated the effectiveness of a wellness coaching intervention in promoting quality of life and wellness outcomes among healthcare professionals in Thailand. In total, 58 participants in this experimental study work with chronic illness patients. Random assignment allocated participants into two groups, experimental or control group. The study design included randomized control group design given to both groups. Research instruments used in this study include: l)Five Factor Wellness Inventory (FFWEL) Thai version, and 1. 2) World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF) Thai version. Only the 29 participants in the experimental group experienced the 2-day group wellness coaching and 4-week online individual wellness coaching. The findings supported the hypothesis that wellness coaching directly influences rehabilitation professionals’ quality of life and wellness perception. The results demonstrated that wellness coaching positively affected rehabilitation professionals’ perceptions of wellness and quality of life. Healthcare professionals do not seek help from mental health professionals. The researchers advocate for wellness coaching due to its various positive effects.
