ABNO‐Catalyzed Oxidative Dehydrogenation of N ‐Heterocycles in the Synthesis of N ‐Heteroarenes
ABSTRACT We report a method for catalyzing the oxidative dehydrogenation of tetrahydroquinoline and indoline derivatives under metal‐free conditions. With 9‐azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane N ‐oxyl (ABNO) as the catalyst in the presence of potassium tert‐butoxide ( t BuOK), this approach facilitates the efficient oxidative dehydrogenation of partially saturated N ‐heterocyclic arylamines to their aromatic counterparts, offering an alternative approach for N ‐heterocycle synthesis.
