Adjunctive Vibration For Orthodontic Pain Reduction: A Meta-Analysis And Systematic Review
Mechanotransductive desensitization of nociceptors may further reduce pain perception by modulating neural signalling pathways. This mechanistic pathway supports observed pain reduction and aligner benefits under weekly exchange protocols [3, 4].The mechanotransductive effects demonstrated in animal models appear clinically relevant, as similar pathways of cytokine modulation (IL-1, TNF-, PGE) are implicated in human orthodontic pain responses, supporting the translational applicability of highfrequency stimulation. These preclinical effects suggest potential translatability to clinical pain modulation.
