Copper-catalyzed oxidative C–H silylation of BODIPY dyes at the 2- or 2,6-positions with silanes

A novel strategy for the silylation of BODIPYs with silanes has been developed, enabling the facile synthesis of a range of structurally diverse β-silylated BODIPYs with high solid-state fluorescence.
