The Cold War and Outer Space: New Perspectives on Culture, Law, and Technology
Abstract This article critically assesses three recent collections of essays, all published by Routledge, that look at the role of technological innovation, strategic rivalries, international legal regulation, and economic development in the competitive and cooperative exploration of outer space during the Cold War. The books produce valuable insights not only about the historical record but also about issues that remain a key part of international politics today.
