NAMI Kansas cafe model aims to brew mental health support

In Kansas, a simple cup of coffee will be brewing something much bigger than caffeine. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Kansas's Front Porch Coffee House initiative is redefining what community mental health support can look like. By blending the warmth of a neighborhood cafe with access to mental health resources, life skills training and social connection, the program, located in Topeka, Kansas, is expected to open for business in fall 2026.
