Surgical resection of a T9-T11 thoracic extradural meningioma: 2D operative video
Postoperatively, the patient experienced immediate improvement in RLE weakness (3/5 preoperatively to 5/5 postoperatively). At 1.5-year follow-up, her neurological recovery was complete; bilateral lower extremity strength was normal, and we saw full resolution of her preoperative neurogenic bowel/bladder. Her only residual complaint is some numbness along the right T10 dermatome. This operative video underscores crucial considerations in the surgical management of a combined extradural/extrapleural meningioma at the T9-T11 level.
